Saint Patrick's Day: 17 March

One of three patron saints of Ireland, Saint Patrick was a fifth century Christian Missionary and bishop.

A beautiful prayer attributed to Saint Patrick has been set to music by several composers. 'Saint Patrick's Breastplate' is known by several names: 'The Deers Cry' and 'I Arise today' to mention two. It celebrates a God who is with us and in us through all Creation. The following is a section of the Breastplate by Irish composer Shaun Davey (1994)
