On the anniversary of the Christchurch mosque attacks 2020
For all victims of the mosque shootings; may the souls of the deceased rest in the peace of God; (pause) may the scars of the living receive the healing balm of the Spirit. We pray to the Lord.
For those whose hearts are bound by hatred and fear; may they recognise God’s promise to change our stony hearts and place his spirit in us. We pray to the Lord.
For the leaders of faith communities: Bishops, Imams, Vicars, Elders, Priests, Ministers, Monks and Rabbis; may the bridges of solidarity built between us continue in peace. We pray to the Lord.
For all scarred by the memories of the mosque attacks; may the Spirit fill them with God’s abiding peace. We pray to the Lord.
For first responders; may their service to those in need continue with unwavering compassion. We pray to the Lord.
For all who laboured to restore the mosques; may their sacrifices be rewarded. We pray to the Lord.
For all who thirst for the truth; may the disciples of the Lord give faithful witness to God’s presence in our world. We pray to the Lord.
For those who do not know God; may they be open to his voice and harden not their hearts. We pray to the Lord.
For those who live with hatred; may the love of God be poured into their hearts. We pray to the Lord.
For the plight of refugees; may prejudice be replaced with a love that respects the dignity of each person. We pray to the Lord.
For those who thirst for justice and truth; may God’s will be done. We pray to the Lord.
