EASTER TIME
The fifty days from the Sunday of the Resurrection to Pentecost Sunday (19 May) are celebrated in joy and exultation as one feast day, (as one 'great Sunday'.) These are the days above all others in which the Alleluia is sung. The Sundays of this time are considered to be Sundays of Easter. GNYLC22-24
The celebration of the octave of Easter is most important: these days rank more highly than Solemnities. The first Solemnity after Easter celebrated this year was the Annunciation of the Lord on Monday 8 April.
Because the Feast day of St Peter Chanel, Patron Saint of Oceania falls on Sunday 28 April we will celebrate this feast of our Patron Saint on Monday 29 April. This will also be the Memorial Day of St Catherine of Siena.
