Praying in Solidarity with Australia

There is great power in unified prayer and during this time of hardship in Australia – our neighbour across the Tasman Sea we are invited to join them in the 'Jesus Have Mercy Prayer.' The National Council of Churches in Australia have declared a National Day of Prayer on Sunday 22 August. At all services people are invited to pray for local, national and global communities experiencing great need and distress caused by COVID-19. Here in Aotearoa New Zealand we have many close links with people living in Australia – friends, family and associates. Now that we are locked down this week, let us join in solidarity, praying as ‘The Church Together.’
